Enter IT Provides Free Information Technology Services to Qualified Small Businesses

The Enter IT Project matches IT student interns from both Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, Iowa and the University of Nebraska at Omaha, in Omaha, Nebraska with small businesses, entrepreneurs, and non-profits, that have limited resources to expend on computing systems. The Enter IT Project is an organization where small businesses (in Pottawattamie County, Iowa) can request direct help for improving their usage of computer technology. The benefits of the Enter IT Project to the community are:
  • Improving small businesses in the region by giving them tools to improve their operations and compete in the marketplace
  • Helping to make Council Bluffs an attractive place for entrepreneurs, creating economic activity for the region
  • Improving Council Bluffs' image as a technically savvy community
  • Giving IT students a real world experience solving problems and working in Information Technology
It is anticipated that Enter IT will actually increase the business to local IT consultants and vendors by increasing the demand for their services through helping businesses realize the potential of technology and referring businesses to commercial IT services for more advanced requests, and ongoing support.
